VAN PERSIE EQUALS HENRY

Robin van Persie equalled a Club record when he scored against Aston Villa on December 21.

The captain converted a penalty in our 2-1 win and in doing so registered his 34th Premier League goal of 2011.

That matches Thierry Henry, who scored 34 times in the top flight in 2004.

Alan Shearer holds the Premier League record for goals in a calendar year, with 36.
